By her words, J.K. Rowling created magic beyond imagination. Born in England, she graduated from Exeter University and started writing the “Harry Potter” series during a delayed Manchester to London King’s Cross train journey. Her first novel, “Harry potter and the Philosopher’s stone” was published in 1997 and the appreciation and love she received was immense. No one, including her, anticipated that her writing would touch so many hearts and it would transform a whole generation’s childhood.

An orphaned child, existence of a parallel magic world, the dark forces, friendship and the love intertwined, it was all so simple, yet so grand. The Harry Potter series crossed all boundaries and remains one of the most cherished novel by millions of people across the globe.  J.K. Rowling created a world of fantasy that was the perfect balance of intoxicating thrill, familiarity and comfort. Many like me knew in our hearts that Hogwarts didn’t exist but it was like we apparated in her world, and everything just felt REAL! She gave a new meaning to ‘Young Adult Literature’ and made reading an entirely different experience.

Rowling has kept her magic alive all these years , how various incidents in the book affected  different people is reflected in the love she still receives, be it through social media or personalized letters. Many have described this journey as an anti-depressant; they have learnt how to fight and cope up with the darkness of the world, just as Harry and his mates did. “Potterheards”, a term signifying people who eternally love and understand Harry Potter as not merely a novel but rather a sacred text, have helped J.K. rowling to keep her magic alive.

After completion of her seven books, in the Harry Potter series, Rowling released “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” , “Quidditch Through The Ages”,  and “The Tales of Beedle the Bard” , in aid for charity. Two of her adult novels “The Casual Vacancy” and “The Cuckoo's Calling” were also published which too were lovingly received by her audience. Regarded as the most influential person by many Psychologists, Rowling regards the key to her success as the honesty and fondness towards her work.

J.K. rowling has shaped thoughts and goals of millions and metamorphosed their lives for better.

“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”

Thank you for being our patronus charm, J.K. Rowling!

Always!
